From the author: Recently introduced perfluorinated polyether rubbers have been found to be useful materials for use as o-rings in harsh environments. They have a very broad range of thermal utility, -55[degrees]C to 200[degrees]C, and exhibit strong resistance to harsh chemical environments over the entire temperature range. The data presented here demonstrate the excellent high and low temperature performance of perfluorinated polyether rubbers after extended exposures to jet fuel and synthetic hydraulic fluids. Demonstration of an appreciable degree of retained sealing force by molded o-rings down to -40[degrees]C is shown in a compression stress relaxation device. From the author: Applying airside and waterside economizer to data center projects requires additional consideration to fulfill the unique design criteria that is not common to other commercial building types. Waterside economizer design considerations include proper equipment sizing, cooling tower freeze protection, pump design for parallel and series configuration, and control strategies for system stability. Airside economizer design considerations include humidification, particulate contamination, gaseous contamination, fire prevention, smoke detection, supply and return air balancing.

From the author: This article analyzes room air distribution and describes a design chart that makes it possible to evaluate variables such as air quality, air speed and draft rate (DR), temperature gradient ([PD.sub.grad]), mean radiant temperature, and radiant temperature asymmetry ([PD.sub.rad]) as a function of flow rate and temperature difference in the supply system. Five different air distribution systems are analyzed: mixing ventilation from a wall-mounted diffuser, mixing ventilation from a ceiling-mounted diffuser, mixing ventilation from a ceiling-mounted diffuser with swirling flow, displacement ventilation from a wall-mounted low-velocity diffuser, and a low-impulse system based on a textile terminal in the ceiling. The procedure to some extent can be based on flow elements, but especially full-scale experiments and computational fluid dynamics predictions have been used for the development of the design charts described herein.
